I’m Josh Tuinder, a REALTOR® in Grand Forks, North Dakota
Grand Forks raised me. The Air Force shaped me. Real estate is what I do; Grand Forks is who I am. I’m licensed with Oxford Realty here in town.

Who I work with
I’ve been licensed since 2023 and I’ve helped more than 30 families buy and sell across Greater Grand Forks, East Grand Forks, Minnesota, Thompson, Emerado, and Manvel. A lot of them were doing this for the first time, or the first time in a long time, and most of them told me the same thing at the closing table: “That was easier and more fun than I thought it would be.” That’s the bar.
Most of my work is with people buying their first home, people outgrowing the one they’ve got and veteran or military families, usually somewhere between $250,000 and $500,000. I ended up there on purpose. That’s the range where a bad decision costs you real money and a good one sets you up for the next fifteen years, and it’s the part of this market I know block by block.
Around Grand Forks, that means the Riverside neighborhood, historic Belmont district, the Near North Neighborhoods, and University Park. On the Minnesota side, I have worked with people in East Grand Forks, Crookston, and Oslo along with several other country homes. I also work Mayville, Buxton, and Emerado regularly, which a lot of agents in town don’t bother with.

Who I’m probably not right for
If you’re picking an agent based on who’ll cut their commission the most, I’m not your guy. I’d rather be the person who tells you the truth about a house than the cheapest one on the list. Plenty of good agents in this town compete on price. I compete on being right.
If you want somebody who’ll tell you your house is worth more than it is to win the listing, also not me. You’ll get the real number the first time.
The flight line
When I’m not showing houses, I’m the Flight Line Manager at UND Aerospace. Eight years in the Air Force as an avionics technician on F-15s, 21+ years fueling and towing aircraft for UND since. It’s a blue-collar job, and it made me a better agent. You don’t cut corners when a hundred airplanes and hundreds of student pilots are counting on you to get it right. The same standard applies when it’s somebody’s house.
I also sit on the Student Employment Advisory Council at UND.
Around town
I am the lead musician and sound technician at my church. The church my Dad and Mom moved here to start in 1985. I participate with Habitat for Humanity and do several volunteer jobs throughout the year. My favorite will always be ringing that bell with the Salvation Army at Christmas time.
